Coring Services -Earth Coring -Water Main Extraction -Pipe Bursting
Earth Coring
- This technique uses a horizontal rod pushing machine which may be used with several tracking techniques to install steel rods which act as a pilot hole
- Various earth cutting, coring and expanding tools may then be attached to the rods and pulled and pushed to create a hole into which utilities may be installed
- Typically used for installations from 25mm to 600mm where a casing is not required
- Main applications include:
- Small diameter utility installation
- Residential and commercial service connections
- Road boring
- Water Main Extraction
- Neptune provides pipe extraction services using their proprietary water main extraction system
- Old cast or ductile iron water mains are removed while new PVC water lines are simultaneously installed
- This technique is primarily used for removing pipe 100mm to 300mm in diameter, although the potential exists for larger diameter replacement
- Main applications include:
- Online cast iron water line replacement
- Same size or increased diameter installation
- Pipe Bursting
- Neptune has the capability to rehabilitate undersized and failing pipe systems using pipe busting methods
- The technique involves the removal of an existing underground utility using mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic force while simultaneously installing a new pipe or conduit
- Typically used to remove PVC, vitrified clay tile (“VTC”), or concrete pipe and simultaneously install PVC or high density polyethylene (“HDPE”) for diameters typically ranging from 100mm to 400mm
- Main applications include:
- Online sanitary and storm sewer replacement
- Same size or increased diameter installation
